INTERVIEW WITH LINDA LACOUR HOBAR (Last Part)

9. What life lessons do you want students to learn from History?

I think we can learn a lot from the character of others we study in history. We can see where even great men and women have faltered and avoid making their mistakes. We can be inspired by those who made a difference in history and had passion to create great change. I want students to be challenged, inspired, informed, and determined to make good decisions that could affect the next generation. More than that, I want students to see, believe, and understand that there is a purpose in life – which is to know God and make Him known. If we follow world history, we will get glimpses of our Creator.

10. How has the life of Jesus Christ affected all of Human History?

When I consider all the people I have written about (approximately 400 biographies in 10 years) there is not one person who has changed this world like Jesus Christ. He was born of a virgin. He was without fault. He came with a purpose. He performed miracles. He had compassion on the poor, the lowly, the sinner, and the hurting. He died for the sins of mankind. He rose from the dead to conquer the curse of sin and death on mankind. There is simply no one who has done what He has done and there never will be. Jesus Christ was the perfect Son of God, the perfect sacrifice for mankind. And, He will return! We should all be ready and waiting – doing all that He would want of us, and telling others how to know Him. He is worthy of all the honor, the power, and the glory. Praise be to Him now and forevermore.
